Well for those who have been following my Facebook status throughout the last weekend/week you should know that many plans did not get followed through with but the time has still gone by painlessly and full of fun! We missed the 7 mile coastal trek but will have a chance to do it in February. This week we did however manage to score a flight on one of our KC-135's while it refueled many F22's. It was right up there with my bomber experience! For those who have not heard the story let me tell you real quick.

While in Qatar I had the opportunity to tour many planes. I also was able to purchase flags and have them flown over Iraq in different aircraft throughout my deployment. I made a trip out to see some B1's with my flags and actually was able to climb a ladder and sign a bomb. I had asked Mom in advance what she wanted the Kent Family Bomb to say and she replied..."Guaranteed to give you visions of virgins". So it was written! That bomber actually left for a mission a few minutes later during which it DROPPED OUR BOMB! I got to stand with the crew chief and salute the crew as they left parking. We then jumped in a truck and headed out to a small pad just to the side of the runway. I stood there watching as it started its engines and sped down the runway. It was to be the most awesome experience ever The sound of the engines made my BDU pants beat up against my legs with great force. I always remember that moment when I wonder why I do what I do. I've never had such pride in what I do as I did at that moment!



That being said, this week I got to do something a little different. I got to fly on the 135 and watch the boom operator fuel 8 F22's I believe. I shot some video and took lots of pics. I'll post a few below but they all are on my FB page. It was pretty awesome! Once again...another reason why I do this!
